High-quality science at the programme selection meeting

Programme selection meeting: high-quality science informed by human rights

The Union’s Coordinating Committee of Scientific Activities (CCSA) gathered last week to review the abstract and session submissions that form the heart of the 2018 conference scientific programme. During the three days of intense work, they shared their thoughts on the importance of the upcoming conference and what excited them from the range of submissions.  Read more here.

The conference programme will be published online in July.

TBScience2018, an official pre-conference of the Union World Conference, is the first scientific meeting entirely devoted to basic and translational TB research. Latest findings in microbiology, immunology, molecular biology, pharmacology, epidemiology and mathematical modelling will be presented on TB transmission, infection and disease. Additional focus will be given to the development of better vaccines, new drugs and diagnostics for TB, and methodological challenges to determining the burden of TB disease at the subnational level.

TBScience2018 is organised by The Union in proud partnership with the National Institutes of Health, WHO, the KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation, the Amsterdam Institute for Global Health and Development (AIGHD), TB Surveillance and Research Unit (TSRU), and European Drug Clinical Trials Partnership (EDCTP).
Abstract submissions for TBScience2018 will open from 25 June until 3 August.

Submissions to the Community Space

We are still accepting proposals for cultural activities, workshops, expositions and networking zones in the Community Space. Open to the public, the Community Space is a dynamic and vibrant area of the conference that brings activists, civil society, and local organisations together with scientists, researchers and policy-makers to rally for a common cause.

Community groups, civil society organisations and others are encouraged to submit proposals before the deadline, which has been extended to Wednesday 27 June.

Sponsorship opportunities

The Union World Conference offers a variety of opportunities to connect with delegates from 130 countries. There are numerous sponsorship opportunities including bags, scholarships, and digital and physical spaces. Find out more here.
